Pet Transformations

Page

As Marapets has grown over the years, there have been new ways of changing your pets introduced to the site. This will take you through what item does what thing and what the various dailies can do.

Permanent Changes

  • Enchanted Plushies – These are usually through the plushie machines but can also be awarded at the end of a mission or through Account Upgrades. These change your pet to the costume and species that is indicated by the plushie. Once used it leaves behind a normal plushie which can be added to your toy & plushie collections.
  • Potions – You can buy potions from the potion shop (including LE and restricted pets, rarely) and gain through missions and Account Upgrades. Similarly to the above, they change your pet to the costume and species indicated on the potion. Once used it disappears.
  • Essences – These are given randomly by the Genie. These change your pet to the species indicated on the essence but it will be a random colour. It’s usually plain colours (blue, red, green or yellow).
  • Enchanted Dips – Cosmonaut can award these on completion of a quest. These can only be used on pets of the same species as the dip. It can change that pet to a random colour (again, usually plain but you can get nice surprises). Once used, it turns into a normal dip which is a gourmet food for your pet.
  • Feathers – Talon may rarely award a feather for completing his quest. They have a very low chance of changing your pet to the colour indicated by the feather. Once used it disappears.

Temporary Changes

Temporary changes are where your pet can change but it returns to the colour and species it was prior. These are a fairly new addition and there are ways to gain them added all the time.

  • Fake Costumes – Most of these are restockable from the fake costume shop but some can be awarded through reward fairies. Others are from events and one is through the beanstalk. These add a transformation to your pet and do not permanently change the colour. It will add the colour transformation to the current species of the pet you used it on. Once used, it disappears.
For example: If you used a fake party costume on your brown chibs, it would gain a party chibs transformation in your collection, but remain a brown chibs.

What’s the point in temporary changes?!

Although the temporary changes may seem pointless, they are actually very useful. Firstly, you have a transformation collection and the Rainbow Fairy rewards you (handsomely) for these.

There is also Drew. He is a rather difficult quest which requires an extensive wardrobe and glowing egg collection but if you are lucky he can award you “dress 4 less vouchers”. Each transformation you have gained has a specific voucher amount that increases with the rarity of the pet. If you can get the number of vouchers he asks for, you can then change your pet into that transformation permanently.

Note: If you did not earn the transformation yourself, the transformation will be unavailable on your pet. So if you trade with someone whose pet has been a chibs in the past, you would be unable to change it back to that chibs.

Transformation Dailies

  • Colours – an HTML5 game. If you win you can win a transformation for your pet. Limited Edition and Restricted pets can be in the transformations. You can play it every 16 hours (8 hours if you have the giftbox). It is not a permanent pet change, just a transformation added to your collection.
  • Guillotine – This can be used every 16 hours (8 hours with the giftbox). If your pet has the headless option in pet colours, your pet can become headless using this. This is a permanent change. If you are progress level 67 or higher, or use a species that does not have a headless option, you will receive a headless costume instead.
  • Operations Portal – Free to use every day, or twice every day with the giftbox. This can change colour/species/both permanently. You cannot get a limited edition or restricted pet from the portal.
  • Whirlpool – to use this you need to buy the 16 treasure map pieces from the treasure map shop for RP and put it together. You can then use it every 24 hours (12 hours with the giftbox). It can change colour/species/both permanently. You can get a limited edition pet through whirlpool. As far as I am aware, restricted cannot.
  • Vortex Park Reservoir – this needs a map which comes out in the Account Upgrades. Once you have put it together it gives you the ability to use it every 24 hours (12 hours with the giftbox). It can change the colour of your pet permanently but cannot permanently change the species. Most often it awards a transformation for your collection. VPR can award both limited edition and restricted pets.
  • Foxfire Pond – another that needs a map that comes out through Account Upgrades. Once you have put it together you can use it every 12 hours (6 hours with the giftbox). It can permanently change the colour/species/both of your pet. It seems to change the colour more often than a full species change. It can award both limited edition and restricted pets.
  • Venomous Victory – also needs a map through Account Upgrades. It is a game similar to snakes and ladders, where if you slide down the snake you can get a transformation added to your pet’s collection. If you win the game, you can choose a transformation and turn your pet into it permanently. You still keep transformations if you lose. It can reward both limited edition and restricted.
  • Poera Prey – also needs a map from Account Upgrades. This game is similar to snake and when you end up eaten, submitting your score will reward you with a transformation. It can reward both limited edition and restricted transformations.

Transformation Temples

  • Temple of Transformation – You can complete a level every 24 hours (12 hours with the giftbox). This temple uses keys that you can dig up from the archaeology game. It asks for 1 key from levels 1-10, 2 keys from 11-20 and 3 keys from 21-30. At the end of the temple you are able to choose a costume transformation for the current species of the pet in the temple. This is a temporary change that only adds to your transformation collection.
  • Temple of Transubstantiation – You can complete a level every 24 hours (12 hours with the giftbox). This temple asks for runes that are from Simerian Explorer quests. You need to complete a map to access the quest. It asks for 1 rune from levels 1-10, 2 runes from 11-20 and 3 runes from 21-30. At the end of the temple you can choose a costume for your pet in the temple. This is a permanent change.
  • Temple of Transmogrification – You can complete a level every 48 hours (24 with the giftbox). This temple can only be completed once unless you purchase the Transmogrification Repeat giftbox. It requires 3 hieroglyphics for all 30 levels and at the end you can pick a Limited Edition pet (normal pets are also available). You change the pet you put in the temple. Restricted pets are not available through this temple.
